When we use words, do they mean the same thing in your mind as they do to others?
Unfortunately, buzzwords, in the context of a social media snippet, are not effective in communicating a message to those who do not already share a common understanding of those words or concepts. They mainly indicate whether or not someone is on your team, reinforcing a common understanding.
If you are a longtime Bitcoiner, you could easily forget that people who stumble upon your buzzwords would not have a clue what you are talking about. (“Protocol” is an infrequently defined term in Bitcoin, even though it’s used all of the time. Fortunately, RXC has elaborated to contrast the idea of the original protocol from the original code. It is helpful to understand when we are talking about economics and when we are talking about software and cryptography.)
Presumably, “set in stone” refers to a stable foundation upon which to build useful applications to onboard the world, not a bible-like cuneiform Ten Commandments-style tablet to carry around.
Sometimes I wonder whether these doodles make any sense at all, based on my weird thought processes.
