Due to irregular doodling in the last few weeks, I missed some Bitcoin developments that have come and gone during the heat of summer (in the Northern Hemisphere) mixed with cool bear market vibes.

One of those minor but illuminating developments was the unofficial coronation of one Andreas Brekken, CEO of Shitcoin.com, who decided to learn more about the Lightning Network. He was “King of the Nodes” for a short while but has already abdicated his throne, presumably due to low profitability ($0.34) and high stress (#reckless).

These in-depth reviews above have confirmed suspicions that LN (on top of BTC) is not ready for normal people to use yet, despite its touted mainnet status. Brekken’s review #4 ends on a generous note: Operating the largest node on the Bitcoin Lightning Network has been educational, frustrating, fun, and at times terrifying. I look forward to trying it again once the technology matures.
